The System in this work refers to the current state of our justice system; what can happen to it when key participants go rogue, corrupt or unconscious of motives, privilege, entitlement and ideology to the degree that people, nature and sustainability are all sacrificed or gorged upon to feed and protect those with rank, power, vested wealth. The System then sees blindly or falsely, unaware that it is actually feeding on itself, harming itself and everyone in it, mistaking cruelty or worse for beauty and righteousness. The System lacks empathy. The System thinks it is balanced, is unaware that it is precarious, unhealthy, dangerous, cruel and ugly. The System screwed up the color gold for the rest of us, lifts its pinkie and thinks itself refined. The System craves approval. The System grows mean, vicious, vindictive. It holds theories to justify itself. The System sees separation where there is essential connection. The System better fucking wake up. It is killing people and what Sir David Attenborough calls “our Eden.” It can only be cured with love. Cannupa Hanska said with love that we must “weaponize our skill set.” That is what motivates this drawing; warning and Scream.
